Learn how to walk in the natural realm while sustaining supernatural love from the Lover of your soul, the Bridegroom. Includes scriptures, reflection questions, and spiritual guidance.
Introduction
As Kingdom Royals, we are called to live fully in the natural realm, the land of the living. Working, building relationships, and stewarding our assets, gifts, talents, and resources — while simultaneously cultivating a supernatural love with the Lover of our souls, Christ our Bridegroom. This is a love that transcends human limitations, flowing from the heart of Christ into every thought, word, and action we engage in.
But how do we remain grounded in our earthly responsibilities while nurturing a divine, supernatural love? The answer is found in intentionality, obedience, and daily communion with the Lord.
Scripture Foundations
Song of Solomon 2:16 (NIV):
“My beloved is mine and I am His; He browses among the lilies.”
Reflection: How often do you intentionally acknowledge your belonging to Christ in your daily life?
John 15:9-10 (NLT):
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love. If you obey My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in His love.”
Reflection: Are there areas in your life where obedience is needed to remain fully in His love?
Romans 5:5 (NLT):
“And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.”
Reflection: How can you practically allow the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with divine love today?
Walking in the Natural While Anchored in the Supernatural
Living in the natural realm does not mean sacrificing your intimacy with Christ. It means:
Prioritizing Daily Devotion: Begin each day intentionally seeking His presence. Even five minutes of prayer or reflection creates a bridge between the natural and supernatural. Giving the Lord the first fruits of your lips daily is a sacrificial offering. He welcomes your first fruits and blesses everything you invest your spirit and and energy into after each offering. So don’t stop at a quick prayer in the morning or once a day. You are a blessing to be a blessing to others around you. The more you freely give the Lord of yourself and your blessings, the more He blesses you to bless your community and Church body. Bless and give Him your very best and receive greater blessings from Him. He cannot lie and promises to increase every offering of praise you give Him. In areas of giving, love, fruitfulness, assets and divine interception. You can not and will NEVER out give / out love God. I double dog dare you to consistently try. 🧐🤭😎
Guarding Your Heart: Protect your mind and spirit from death, division, and negativity. Christ’s love is supernatural; the soil of your heart must be fertile for it to grow. Welcome the Holy Spirit into your thoughts willingly. The more you do this even your most embarrassing, most hostile, most shameful, most suicidal thoughts lose their grip and sting over your soul and spirit.
Applying Kingdom Principles in Action: Let the love you receive from the Bridegroom shape your interactions, decisions, and work ethic. Your life becomes a testimony of supernatural love in tangible ways. Men and women of God make up the flawless gift of the Churchbride. She is strengthened by the way we strengthen ourselves and each other intentionally.
Reflection Question: What is one area of your daily life where you can reflect the Bridegroom’s love more intentionally? Reflecting His love looks like extending grace to someone through your patience, forgiveness, and thoughtfulness. Reflecting His love looks like showing honor and respect to someone because you CAN. 😤💯😎
Not because they deserve it or because they may be in a position to bless you.
The Power of Communion and Obedience
Supernatural love flows when we remain in communion with God. This just means acknowledging He is able to hear and comprehend our thoughts and what we truly feel in our hearts. Invite Him in and ask Him to Spirit-Check you and your thoughts and desires regularly. You will find yourself wanting to think more of the things that are pleasant to Him. You find your thoughts, questions, comments and concerns and feelings having less control over you. In certain situations, you will find yourself going to the secret meeting place you create and cultivate with the Holy Spirit more frequently when things are not flowing right. Regular scripture reading, prayer, worship, and meditative silence anchor our souls in His love. Obedience is the channel through which His supernatural love is expressed in the natural realm. The influence of the world will lessen on you as you begin to live out loud and proudly the scriptures you attach to your heart and spirit. You begin to carry the sweet and precious Words of your Bridegroom around like treasure you would die to protect. You may have to die to your flesh and carnal desires daily. The reward for setting your will to killing your flesh is increasing the intensity you receive His blessings, voice, companionship, and covering. There is no one like Him so there is no one that can provide to you what He gives you freely because you are reflecting and returning His love of your own free will. He will always long to hear from you and your heart, mind, imaginations, and soul more than you yearn to spend time with Him. Your willingness to submit and spend intentional time with Him moves Him to bless you in greater ways. Far beyond anything you can think, dream, ask, imagine, or desire. He wants to cause your cup to overflow with abundance in every area of your life. He is what modern day people would call a “Simp” for His faithful, devoted Churchbride, which is made up of men and women of God.
Reflection Question: Are there areas where obedience feels challenging? How can you surrender them to Christ today?
Cultivating Love Through Intentionality
Affirmation: “I am a vessel of the Bridegroom’s love. My heart overflows with divine affection that guides my actions.”
Practice: Take time each day to pause and reflect on His love. Journal your experiences, gratitude, and moments where you felt His presence in your daily interactions.
This will also require you to become intimately familiar with:
A. His definition of love found in 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 NLT
“If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
B. You must also understand why He would sacrifice Himself to redeem us, as perfectly imperfect as we are and have always been.
Galatians 3:13
"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole”.
This shows that redemption is necessary because the law curses us due to our sinful nature. Jesus takes on that curse for us through His death.
Titus 2:14
"Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works".
Christ's purpose is to free us from lawlessness and make us His own people, zealous for good works, rather than living for ourselves.
Ephesians 1:7
"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace".
Redemption is through Christ's blood, resulting in the forgiveness of sins and demonstrating the immense richness of God's grace.
Colossians 1:13-14
"For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins".
This highlights the shift from darkness to light that redemption brings, marked by forgiveness of sins through Christ's sacrifice.
Revelation 5:9-10
"You were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth".
Redemption is a global act, involving people from all nations, transforming them into a kingdom of priests to serve God
Many scholars who have studied Scripture describe Christ's possessiveness over believers as a righteous and protective jealousy. Similar to a husband's love for his wife. This "godly jealousy" is not selfish or insecure but a deep desire for our full devotion and protection, as we were bought and belong exclusively to Him. We are His & He is ours.
The marriage covenant
The Bible frequently uses the imagery of marriage to describe Christ's relationship with the Churchbride (devoted and faithful men and women of God).
Betrothed to one husband: Paul writes to the Corinthian church, expressing a divine jealousy for them. He had promised them to one husband, Christ, and wanted to present them as a pure virgin (2 Corinthians 11:2). This implies Christ's exclusive claim on our faithfulness.
Christ's sacrificial love for His bride: Ephesians 5:25–27 instructs husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. This sacrificial love is driven by the goal of presenting the church to Himself as "a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle... holy and blameless".
Husband as head of the wife: The husband is called the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the Churchbride, devoted and faithful men and women of God (Ephesians 5:23). This metaphor points to Christ's authority over believers, similar to the headship role in a marriage.
Bought with a price
The New Testament emphasizes that believers have been purchased by Christ's sacrifice, giving Him full ownership.
Paul tells the Corinthians, You are not your own; you were bought at a great price 1 Corinthians 6:19–20. Because of this, believers are instructed to honor God with their bodies.
In 2 Corinthians 1:21–22, God is said to have set his seal of ownership on us and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit. The Holy Spirit serves as God's mark, confirming his access and possession of us.
1 Peter 2:9 states that believers are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, who have been called out of darkness into His Light.
Christ has an exclusive claim on all who follow Him and is responsible for keeping His covenant by and for His the sake of His own name. There is no one greater than Him to swear by other than His own name.😎🥰😎
Jesus' claim in John 14:6 is absolute: "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This is a definitive statement of his exclusive authority.
In Matthew 28:18, Jesus proclaims, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me." This authority extends to His exclusive claim over those who become His disciples.
James 4:5 references an Old Testament principle, saying God jealously longs for the spirit He has caused to dwell in us". The understanding of this God breathed Word warns against spiritual adultery, or "friendship with the world," which provokes God's righteous jealousy. This righteous jealousy in modern language translates to any enemy of God: Touch not my anointed or face utter destruction on their behalf.🥰🥹
